Which systems contribute to the amount of humanitarian assistance a country receive in regard to Famine?
REFLECTION #1- Thursday, April 13
We change our topic through the process because our first topic was about immigrants marginalized. It was to obvious that immigrants were seen as threat. That we change it and put it for humanitarian crisis because we saw how some crisis are not important. How media sees the crisis as important or not. That we change to topic now we need a new generalization and universal theme because it's different topic. That we needed a new of everything because it was a different topic and it came with different twist and info that some were ignored and some weren't. We learn new about the humanitarian crisis that some crisis are being seen and others are not. That even we learn that humanitarian crisis is happening in some places that media doesn’t talk about. In the next step in our group we want to see more info or trends that change over time about humanitarian crisis. We learn a new info that the humanitarian crisis starts with the climate change that it changes and make that place into a drought place. That we learn how the humanitarian crisis affects the economy because the government and media doesn’t care about that crisis but some people come to help the people in need. In the next steps i will need to see about the humanitarian crisis is about are the crisis being seen or notice in world wide or only pay attention to big places like France and we find less crisis in the U.S.
Reflection #2-Thursday, April 18
We found more info of all the Humanitarian crisis but we did not know what crisis like Famine or something else but we chose famine because we notice that this crisis was still happening in the real world. Our topic did not change and our driving question at first wasn’t good but we got some help from the mentors, they got our driving question on role or good. In the Student-Led Research we chose a interview because it could give us more information what the person that knows more about Famine and study it tells us more about it. The easy of this process was the information of the articles and the Topic choice , and the difficulty of this process was the organizing in the ISD and the driving question. We need to successfully complete the ISD and the poster and we need to have more time to finish our ISD and our creativity in the poster. Is going very good because we are collaborating to see how much we need and do together. The working in a team is going well but is not going well because we don’t get a lot of time and we find info but we don’t know if it's a bad website or just a 5 grader doing it. That we even found info in university and our professor that we are interviewing is a Phd from McGill University about Famine and he respond to us that he will respond to those question but only in email but we don’t know when will he respond to us.
Reflection #3- Thursday
Since my last reflection i learn about my topic of Famine that its happen mostly in the past and present. That Famine is being push away and Donald trump wants to stop helping the united nation because if they stop giving money the Famine country will increase death. I learn a lot of things and facts that i never knew like famine and in my ability to work increase because i will be always worry if we don't finish the work. That my group is trying to get help and same time thinking what to do and that we are thinking to make the trifold like sand to symbolize the dirt of Africa. We are planning to do a world bowl and inside to paint pink because to show how in a famine country suffer and that there is no food for them to get feed. In our symposium project we need to still finish our knife and spoon to show the countries that are suffering. We are practicing our collaboration and we don’t know if it's okay and i think it's going well and that we will know what to say to a person.
Reflection #4-Friday
Since my third reflection i learn more about my topic and other topic to in the big even in my school it was symposium event. Everyone that was symposium presented their trifold or poster in front of people and my group too at first its scary in the first person coming up to your board but later more people came and my goosebumps went away. That i learn even in my board that mostly the famine is happening is the top two cities or states and its Nigeria & Somalia. That mostly the people that came to our trifold they ask What is famine? and i like to answer them and i knew that in our topic is the only one that is doing famine mostly the other topic are different than ours. That i like answering people question because we were the only one that knew about that topic and teaching to them was more better. Our collaboration with the guest was more better than i expected by our self with flashcards.
